The next revolution in connectivity looks ready to be lead by China as their adoption rates for 5G, the next iteration of the mobile network, are expected to consist of half the predicted 1 billion 5G users in 2023.
Although base station locations and internationally agreed upon specifications are yet to be set, experts expect the technology to take off faster than any other previous mobile technology. Japan, South Korea, and the United States are all among the countries competing to role out the first commercial network. Qualcomm recently claimed that it has successfully produced a working 5G connection on a mobile device as individual corporations also attempt to show 5G progress.
